Our Staff

Sarah founded Highbury Young Singers in 1996 with Scott Stroman.  She studied Music at King’s College London, Accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and repetiteur work on the English National Opera short course. She is also a qualified music therapist and worked in this field for several years. Sarah has worked with children and young people throughout her career; directing Highbury Young Singers, teaching music and singing in schools to classes and larger groups and running holiday music and drama courses. She continues to perform and play, coaches opera singers, accompanies students at Islington Music Centre, Deansfield and Apollo Chamber Choirs and is Assistant Director of Eclectic Voices. She is also Vocal Director of Highbury Opera Theatre.

Hannah works as a singer and conductor across London. As well as directing Highbury Youth Choirs, Hannah is Assistant Head of Vocal Studies at Highgate School, and conducts the two youngest choirs at Finchley Children's Music Group. She also works with Tenebrae, the Gabrieli Consort, and the National Youth Choir on their schools music provision. As a singer, she performs with some of the country’s leading choirs, including ORA, Tenebrae and the Gabrieli Consort, and her compositions for children and youth choirs are published by Choral Music Publishing.
